Why the high-frequency breaking hammer will be damaged if it is not used for a long time
Source:   Author:

As we all know, many instructions for high-frequency breaking hammers will repeatedly emphasize that nitrogen must be released when the breaking hammer is not used for a long time to push the piston into the cylinder block, but we may not know why this is done and why it is done. In this section, we will talk about the necessity of doing this. First of all, let's popularize the materials and heat treatment process of the piston of the breaking hammer. Because the piston of the breaking hammer needs to hit the drill rod for a long time, it requires both high hardness and good toughness. At present, most of the commonly used models at home and abroad use low-carbon alloy steel carburizing to produce the piston. In this way, the surface hardness of the piston can reach HRC59-62 degrees, and the core modulation hardness is about HRC30-35, Another point is to popularize science. If the hardness of the drill rod exceeds that of the piston at any time, the piston will be damaged in a very short time. Some customers blindly require high-frequency treatment of the surface of the high hardness drill rod, resulting in the surface hardness of the drill rod reaching above HRC58, which is very easy to damage the piston. Manufacturer of high-frequency breaking hammer

Because carbon is a necessary auxiliary element in metal elements, such as No. 45 steel, which has a carbon content of 0.45%. Because metal elements with high carbon content are very easy to oxidize and rust, and pistons are made by carburizing process, once the piston surface is damp, it is easy to rust. Especially in summer and autumn, if the piston is not used for more than 10 days and the surrounding environment is very humid, it is easy to rust the piston. Once the piston is rusted, it can be used again, The oil seal may be damaged in light cases, and the oil cylinder may be roughened or even scrapped in serious cases. So the correct method is to discharge the nitrogen if the breaker is not used for more than 10-30 days, then remove the drill rod, remove the plug on the hammer oil pipe, extend the steel pipe or iron bar from the outer casing to counter the piston, and use the sledge hammer to return the piston to the upper limit. After the operation, install the drill rod, and then use it once the nitrogen is filled when using it next time, so that even if the outer surface of the piston is rusted, the oil seal and cylinder will not be damaged. If it is troublesome, the hammer can also be completely wrapped with waterproof canvas or tarpaulin when not in use to prevent moisture intrusion, which can also play a preventive role.

During the operation of high-frequency breaking hammer, many machine operators will think that the problem of empty blow of breaking hammer is not serious, which leads to incorrect operation actions. The drill rod does not always keep vertical to the broken object, does not tightly press the object, and does not stop the operation immediately after breaking, which happens from time to time. It seems that the problem of air striking is not serious, and it does not cause much damage to the breaking hammer itself. In fact, this kind of wrong operation will cause the main bolt to loosen, the precursor to be damaged, or even the machine to be damaged! We must take a warning.
